**From 1 July to 30 September 2025, the price cap is £1,720. Our cheapest fixed tariff Simply Fixed Aug26v5 is £1,620 a year – £100 cheaper than the Ofgem cap when you pay by Direct Debit. Figures are based on Ofgem ‘typical’ consumption. 'Typical' yearly consumption is 2,700kWh electricity and 11,500kWh gas based on a national average of regional prices for a dual fuel customer with a standard electricity meter who pays by Direct Debit. 'Typical' consumption assumes the price cap does not change over a full year. Please remember – it’s the standing charge and cost per unit of energy that’s a set rate – not your bill which will vary depending on how much energy you use. The energy regulator Ofgem reviews and sets the maximum prices we can charge for gas and electricity on our variable tariffs. This is the energy price cap. The cap is reviewed every three months in January, April, July and October. Standard (Variable) prices are based on the energy price cap. Fixed tariff prices remain the same for the duration of the tariff and are not covered by the energy price cap. *This tariff is backed yearly by 100% zero carbon nuclear electricity as standard. The UK fuel mix disclosure information published by the government (DESNZ) recognises electricity generated from wind, solar and nuclear produces zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation. The zero-carbon electricity purchased is supplied to the National Grid. Customers receive electricity via the National Grid, not directly from zero-carbon generators.
